The Ministry of Industry and Trade assessed the results of the agreement on stabilizing prices – Rambler / finance

The conclusion of agreements on the stabilization of prices for sugar and sunflower oil in Russia did not lead to a shortage of products, said Viktor Yevtukhov, State Secretary, Deputy Head of the RF Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In December, the government announced a set of measures in connection with the rise in food prices in Russia, among them – the conclusion of agreements to stabilize prices for sugar and sunflower oil, which are valid until April 1, 2021. The agreements fix the maximum wholesale and retail prices: for sugar – 36 rubles per kilogram in wholesale and 46 rubles in retail, for sunflower oil – 95 rubles per liter in wholesale and 110 rubles in retail.

“Of course, there was no deficit, because we do not, in principle, have a deficit in production. We produce enough sugar and sunflower oil,” Yevtukhov said on the Russia 24 TV channel, commenting on the thesis that price regulation can cause products to disappear from store shelves.

At the same time, the Deputy Minister pointed out that agreements on price stabilization were concluded only for two types of products.

“Of course, I would not like to resort to such extreme, not entirely market mechanisms and expand the list of these goods … If we expand this list, then, of course, we may face various negative phenomena of departure from market principles of pricing,” he stressed.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade noted that the agreements played a role, and the cost of sugar and butter decreased

“Today, according to the tax service, we see a significant decrease in the price of both sugar and butter, and these prices today are lower than those stated in agreements on the part of Russian retail. I think that Rosstat data (on the dynamics of food prices – ed.) Will also catch up soon, “added Evtukhov.

According to him, according to the Federal Tax Service (FTS), based on information received from online cash desks, the average retail price of sunflower oil for which agreements have been concluded is about 99 rubles in retail, and about 44 rubles for sugar.
